Fit Notes is a book of feminist stories, essays and poetry exploring the intersections of illness, bodies, gender and work.

In this illuminating and essential anthology, Ache brings together nineteen feminist writers to explore illness, pain, gender and work. Sickness is an unavoidable part of life, whether we live with chronic health conditions or are knocked by bouts of illness.

Ache asked artist and animator Cecilia Reeve to create a custom artwork in response to the themes explored in 'Fit Notes', our latest anthology exploring illness, gender and work.

We are delighted to have created a limited edition art print of this cover, available exclusively from our online store.

ARTIST BIO: Cecilia Reeve is captivated by the literary genre ‘Magical Realism’ and drawn to the moments in between: where dreams and reality collide and the ephemeral shadows that we leave in places passed by. Immersion in water is a pathway into portraying the Unconscious mind; as suspended in water our bodies become fragmented and out of time with the physical world. In her work Cecilia considers the female gaze and in turn her own body, using it as a source of reference and movement, examining and claiming the ways in which the (her) body can be seen and unseen.
